WebOct 18, 2016 · I ended up buying this used FAT Performance 2.5 L Type 4 for my '68 912R build. It was previously owned by 914 Collector Ron Light of Hershey Pennsylvania. This is the motor that was in his Bahia red 914 2.0 when he recorded the faster Porsche time for the Hershey Hill climb.

The high compression version used domed pistons. If this was a 1.7L from a bus....you have even lower compression and less hp. About 63hp. A different cam and deeper dished pistons.
